Counting blessings

Okay, so tonight I spent over 30 minutes fighting monsters and snakes and Power Rangers (??) w/ my amazing 3 year old.  Oh, and "mad guys".  :)  He has this completely incredible imagination lately.  He taught me the proper way to hold a ninja turtle sword.  And we had a dance party later while watching Madagascar 3.  Man, I just love him so much.  Pretty amazing end to the weekend.  :)

Carson is THREE!!

This post is a month overdue now, but my baby is 3!!  Unbelievable!  He is truly the greatest blessing ever.  He's the sweetest little boy.  He's caring, he's funny.  He's a wonderful big brother.  I just can't say enough about him.  He changed our lives forever.  It's been a fantastic three years.  :)

Here's my little guy on 9-22-09.

And at 2 mos....

 And 3 years....

(He was all excited to find his hat and gloves in the closet)  :)
His birthday fell on a Saturday this year.  Grandma Margaret came over to watch Avery so we could take Carson out for a while by himself.  We went to Chuck E Cheese to play games and then headed to lunch.  I love that we're a family of four, but it was nice to be able to spend special time alone with just Carson too.

We gave him his birthday present that night.  He'd been talking nonstop about a train table and having a "train birthday".  So we just had to get one.  :)  He didn't even act that surprised when we took him to the basement to see it!  He very casually was like "oh, my train table".  Crazy kid.  But he got more and more excited as he looked at all of the pieces and he told us thank you over and over.  :)

We had a party for him the next day at the park near Grandma's house.  We invited a couple of his friends from daycare this year and it was so fun to watch them play together!  Grandma Margaret, Nana and Papa and Aunt Mandy, Uncle Bob and baby Fletcher were all able to make it as well!  The day was a bit stressful for Mommy as the weather was not great.  :(  It was SO windy.  And cold!  Decorating ending up being completely pointless.  But it taught me once again to try to be more relaxed (very hard for me!).  No one seemed to care that half the decorations blew away and all of the balloons got knotted together around the pavillion post........:)  The kids had a blast and that's all that matters.  :)

That says Happy 3rd Birthday.  Haha.  We also hung decorations all around the ceiling, but those whipped around or ultimately blew away.   :)

This started out as 4 separate balloon bouquets.  Yeah.......

Trying for the umpteenth time to tape the tablecloths to the table.  :)
But all didn't matter when the kids arrived.  :)

Pictures!

We had family pictures taken on Sunday w/ Patricia Mingus.  The kids did really well.  Avery fell (again) face forward on the concrete during the shoot (she fell w/ Cori's shoot too).  No tears this time though.  Getting photographed is rough!  :)  They had school pics last week too.  Lucas is beyond over all the pictures!

Anyway, got home tonight and our CD from Cori was here!!  So excited.  Love them!  Here are a few faves!  Well, a bunch.  :)  But I can't choose my favorite faves!
