Lots of changes

Carson's growing and changing every day! It's hard to keep up with everything! I need to be better at jotting everything down so I don't forget!

In the last month, he's started "talking" more - "ba, ba, ba" and "ma, ma, ma". Sorry Daddy - no "da, da, da" yet, but I'm sure that will end up being his first word. :-)

He's moving nonstop now. He rolls EVERYWHERE. And EVERYTHING goes straight into his mouth. I learned a valuable lesson last month not to turn my back for even a moment.....I turned back just in time to watch him roll off our bed! I was horrified, but thankfully he was fine. I'm sure I'll have many more "bad mom" moments along the way, but hopefully none that harm my child! It was awful and I can't believe it happend on "my watch"! Lesson learned. No more sitting on the bed in the morning. :-) (And no more sitting on the couch alone either - see previous post!) But as I said, he rolls everywhere and he's so fast! In an instant, he goes from sitting, to belly, to across the room! Yesterday, I caught him w/ Emma's Kong in his mouth - twice! So we're now building "pillow forts" as much as we can to keep him within arm's length! Especially until we baby-proof! Lucas - if you're reading this, you've got some work to do! Ha ha!

He's becoming a big boy at daycare too. Just this week, he started feeding himself his bottles. Not all, but every once in a while. (I think they have to do that before they can move up to the next room. But he's still got a little while. Ms. Kaitlin said it will probably be June. Whew!) I think Lucas is proud. I'm sad. I just know these moments aren't going to last long and even though every new thing is so exciting, I'm just not in a hurry to get to anything. :-) But here he is feeding himself like a little man.

And speaking of feeding, he just started fully on formula last week. I weaned slowly over the last month. I was lucky to have quite a bit frozen, so that helped get him up to last week. He seems to love formula - I was worried about weaning for nothing. I think I was more upset to give it up than he was. He didn't seem to notice at all! There are plenty of bonding moments that we can still have! I'm glad we were able to go as long as we did. But man, it is nice not to have to mess w/ pumping anymore!!! Or warming up bottles! Feeding him is so quick now. I love it! :-)

He's started lately to get one little knee up when he's on his belly. And then this weekend, he started getting up on all fours, rocking back and forth, and scooting backwards a little. He usually gets up, rocks for a bit, realizes he's not going anywhere, and drops down to start rolling. It's pretty cute to watch. I tried to get some pics of him in action (and a video) tonight.

He's very entertained by his big "sister" Emma! He watches her constantly and laughs and laughs. Hopefully they'll grow up to be the best of friends. As long as I can teach Carson not to pull her hair!

Aunt Mandy's Baby Shower!

We had Aunt Mandy's baby shower yesterday! We can't wait to meet Baby Bradstreet!! They're due June 12th so we will eagerly countdown the days. :-)

Bob, Mandy and Madisyn

I would've killed to be half this cute when I was pregnant! :-) And Bob's adorable too!

Bob matched the green and brown decor! Nice job.

Love you guys!!

7 Months!

Carson turned 7 mos. old last Thursday (4/22). I cannot believe it's flown by so quickly!

I can already see that pictures w/ this elephant are going to get more and more difficult! :-)

Action shot right before he did a full somersault off the couch! Mommy is quickly learning that he's FAST and I can't let go of him for even a moment.

"Oops. Thanks for catching me mom!"

Baby Buggy!

Lucas keeps coming home and telling me how cute Carson is at daycare riding w/ his friends in the baby buggy.......and I keep yelling at him to take a picture!! (Lucas picks up so I never get a chance to see it). So finally Friday, I got my picture. :-)

Funny

It happened twice this week....and it made me smile. As I was driving to work, the Black Eyed Peas came on the radio......and halfway through the song, each time, I realized that I was tapping my stomach to the beat. Totally made me smile.

When I was pregnant, almost every time the Black Eyed Peas came on (Boom Boom Pow or I've Got a Feeling), Carson would start dancing around in my belly. And I would tap along to the beat on the outside. It became our little thing. I guess, unconsciously, I'm still doing it. Made me laugh out loud when I realized it. I'll have to break that so people don't think I'm crazy. :-) And I'll have to see if Carson likes the BEP now that he's outside!

"Uh....guys...."

.....I think my hat shrunk....."

Busy Weekend

We had another busy weekend full of visitors! Uncle Shannon was in town for a concert and stopped by for a visit on Saturday. I stink though and didn't get any pictures of them together. I did get this though......so cute!

Then Saturday night, we went over to see pictures of Carson's new baby cousin (they got a 4-D sonogram). Aunt Mandy is due June 12th and we cannot wait to met him/her!!! (I think it's a boy though!) Such a cutie!! I cannot wait for him/her and Carson to grow up together!

And then today, Aunt Allie, Uncle Neal and Giana came over to visit! It's been a while since we've seen them and it was nice to have at least a short visit. They're always so busy when they're in town! As I mentioned, Allie and Gigi were in a bad accident this week and I'm just so thankful that they both walked away relatively unharmed! The pictures were awful! And Allie looked a little banged up today. But thank God that everyone ended up okay and hopefully Allie will heal quickly. We love you guys!!

Carson and Giana - I can't believe what a little lady she is already!!

"Look, here's my computer" SO cute!

Big Boy!

We finally broke out the big-boy carseats this weekend! Daddy got them installed in both cars so we're all set. No more lugging the carrier back and forth-whew! I don't think my back could've taken much more. It will be weird to just carry him around though w/out it. :-)

Here he is trying it out before we put it in.
No more toys but it sure looks more comfortable! And it's very securely installed so I feel like he'll be very safe in it. That's the most important thing (as was proven this week when Aunt Allie and Cousin Gigi were in an awful car accident! Thank God they were okay and the carseat did its job!)

First Haircut!!

Well, it was time already for my baby boy's very first haircut. Sniff, sniff. Another sign that he's not really a baby anymore. :-) (He actually already got his "tail" cut off at 5 weeks, but this was his first real haircut). I think he's got my hair - it grows very fast! And he was getting pretty shaggy. So Daddy said "time for a haircut!!". :-) Mandy was able to get us in on Thursday. Not a huge change, but definitely neater! Thanks Aunt Mandy!!

Before
He did SO well during! He could have been there all night as long as he had that comb!

Yay! Thanks Aunt Mandy!

Happy Easter!

Haven't posted in a while - oops! But I'll catch up. :-)

We had a nice Easter weekend. Carson got lots of fun stuff in his little lamb Easter basket - book, CD's, bath toys, stuffed animal and a new Easter bib. And Emma got a squeaky chick and some busy bones - yum!

Emma very much enjoyed her basket. And Carson really didn't even see his.....oops. It was a busy day! :-)

Grandma and Grandpa Williams (Nana and Papa) came over on Saturday to see the little guy. He got lots of stuff in his Easter basket from them- bibs and teethers! Very fun! It was a nice visit.

Nana and Papa (he's so silly!)

And then on Easter Sunday, we went to Bloomington to see Great-Grandma Rose. We haven't been since Thanksgiving so Carson's changed quite a bit since then! I think Grandma really enjoyed spending time with him!
